OVERVIEW

Civil engineering is a discipline or branch that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance, public works such as roads, bridges, canals, dams, airports, sewerage systems, pipelines, structural components of buildings, and railways. It is considered the second-oldest engineering discipline after military engineering. Civil engineering takes place in the public sector from municipal through to central and state governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.

VISION & MISSION

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? If yes Keys to your success will be your civil engineering acumen and road and highway background. Responsible for managing the construction engineering functions on a construction project to ensure adherence to all engineering construction plans and specifications. Under direct supervision, performs routine duties requiring knowledge of basic engineering principles.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Civil engineering branch is located in Prasad Polytechnic, Jaunpur. Branch has big and ventilated infrastructure such as spacious classrooms, well-equipped laboratories, Library and Information Center, and much more is accommodated at the campus, seminar hall with high resolution projector and auditoriums, open ground for surveying.

HOD’S MESSAGE

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome to the department of Civil Engineering As you enter the world of infrastructure, I am sure there is great expectation and apprehension about the future in civil engineering . Our department is having a team of qualified and experienced faculty and staff members and we are striving hard continuously to improve upon the quality of education and to maintain its position of leadership in engineering and technology. The primary goal of the department is to train the students to become good citizens with moral values and high-quality technical knowledge.

LABORATORY

We have following labs. All labs having latest technology machines and apparatus

SOM lab: In the mechanics of materials, the strength of a material is its ability to withstand an applied load without failure or plastic deformation.

Civil Lab –I:  Building materials testing laboratories instruments for testing of concrete, cement, soil, steel, aggregates, rock, construction water, bitumen, wood etc.

Civil Lab –II: Building materials testing laboratories instruments for testing of concrete, cement, soil, steel, aggregates etc.

Civil Lab –III: Road , Highways& Run-Ways materials testing laboratories instruments for testing of concrete, cement, soil, steel, aggregates, rock, construction water, bitumen, etc.

Surveying Lab: The Surveying Laboratory has a wide variety of modern surveying equipment, such as GPS-based surveying equipment, total stations, Digital theodolites, and automatic levels for basic instructional and research purposes. Undergraduate students use the laboratory as an integral part of their surveying coursework and obtain any topographic information. Student use of the lab is preceded by appropriate safety training and instruction on the use and care for the equipment.

E Learning Studio

We have two online leaning platform. Such as Google Classroom & Zoom Classes.

Students Achievements

Civil engineering is the campus champion in cricket tournament since last three academic years. And runner-up in volley ball since last two years.

Academics Event

The competition was a unique opportunity for the students of Civil so causes we have provide a broad platform for practical knowledge on construction sites and ready mix concrete batching plants for more knowledge we visits PWD annually.

Testimonial

I am very thankful to give a good and useful knowledge. Specially to say thank for practical and sites knowledge because it is very useful to our future.
