OVERVIEW
Electrical engineering is an engineering discipline concerned with the study, design and application of equipment, devices and systems which use electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. It emerged as an identifiable occupation in the latter half of the 19th century after commercialization of the electric telegraph, the telephone, and electrical power generation, distribution and use.
Electrical Engineering is versatile and ever-green branch of Engineering. Electrical engineers work in a very wide range of industries and the skills required are likewise variable. These range from circuit theory to the management skills of a project manager. The tools and equipment that an individual engineer may need are similarly variable, ranging from a simple voltmeter to a top end analyzer to sophisticated design and manufacturing software.
Today’s electrical engineers design electrical devices and systems using basic components such as conductors, coils, magnets, batteries, switches, resistors, capacitors, inductors, diodes and transistors. Nearly all electrical and electronic devices, from the generators at an electric power plant to the microprocessors in your phone, use these few basic components.
CARRER PROSPECT
After completing graduation in Electrical Engineering, candidates can hook up for core & non-core sectors jobs in private and government domains or can move along to pursue higher studies.
There are various opportunities for the students after B.Tech in government organizations/PSUs like-BHEL, GAIL, HPCL, NTPC, BARC, IOCL, Railways, UPSC (IES) and many more. In private sector, there are many big core companies in the field of electrical engineering like L&T, TATA Power, Reliance Power, Crompton Greaves, Bajaj Electricals Ltd. etc. and some non-companies like Wipro, TCS, Infosys etc. are high paid sectors.

HEAD OF DEPARTMENT
MESSAGE OF HOD
Electrical Engineering is the power Department of the Prasad Group of Institutions; the Department is making best efforts to produce highly trained and capable engineers who can take up the challenges of the real world. The quality of academic instructions, conduct guidelines and college activities are designed to produce competent and successful engineers. In the Department, the focus is on preparing professional engineers.
I am extremely happy to be associated with the students who have opted the core and oldest branch of engineering, As far as the Department is concerned, academic standards and practical work are the two key parameters. The faculty is involved in imparting quality education and strives to foster and encourage a teaching methodology that is both practical and theoretical in approach. This orientation has led to successful projects and trainings. The department believes in the multidimensional growth of all students.
